I live my crush but she doesn't like me. She likes my friend

2020.09.04 18:49 xx232323 I live my crush but she doesn't like me. She likes my friend

I'm 18M and have had a huge crush on a girl for the past 2 years now.Its not one of those crushes where I've never spoken to her or anything. We got to know each other in 10th grade and I don't know what it was about her.She wasn't the "hottest" girl in the grade but when I talked to her,it was a feeling like no other.I could talk to her forever without getting bored. There was just no saturation point. She's just an amazing person. We slowly started texting and were soon texting 1-2 hours a day.I always wanted to take the next step and call her and hinted at it many times but she kept turning me down. But she still used to text me for hours. Soon 10th was over and we wound up in the same class in 11th and 12th as well ( which is now online coz of corona :p).Anyways, one of my best friends was also in my class and he and her lived close to each other.Soon they started going back home together very often and things escalated quite quickly and she didn't want to talk to me as much. I could see why she would want him over me-He's plays basketball at the National level, he looks way better than me & is very good in studies. He also is a very funny guy.I would like to think of myself also as a funny, good natured guy but I'm not nearly as successful or good looking as he is. She kept drifting away and I knew there's no point asking her out coz she very clearly likes my friend. My friend is kind of a playboy & while he talks to her a lie, he simultaneously does 2nd to 3rd degree stuff with others. This breaks her heart but she still wants him. I, on the other hand, would treat her much better. I love her so much. I would give the world for her. This guy doesn't understand how lucky he is.
I keep thinking time will heal everything but time doesn't seem to be healing my wounded heart. Its like the song 'what if I never get over you' by lady Antebellum only difference is I never actually dated her.
All I'm looking for is some advice if any of you went through the same thing. Or even any appropriate songs would be nice :p

"I'm thinking about the banana stand on Arrested Development." - Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), doing that weird likable thing again

The Alarmed Forces

As President Trump continues to inflame racial tensions and threaten peaceful protesters with violence, he’s increasingly fighting against not only public opinion, but Congress and the U.S. military, too.
Top military officials publicly backing away from him hasn’t stopped Trump from continuing to threaten protesters with federal force.
It’s stunning to see the top military official in the country publicly denounce the president’s actions. It’s also a sobering reminder of just how far Trump has gone off the rails, and the scale of what’s at stake. As Joe Biden warned bluntly on The Daily Show on Wednesday night, “This president is going to try to steal this election.” Trump’s racist, authoritarian slide is part of that effort, and underscores the reality that we’ll need all hands on deck

Look No Further Than The Crooked Media

NEW POD ALERT! Introducing Unholier Than Thou, our new podcast from journalist Phillip Picardi that seeks to find answers from above for whatever the hell is going on down here.
Picardi will take listeners on his quest to better understand his relationship with spirituality by learning how faith plays a role in other people’s lives, and with the help of the spiritual, religious, and agnostic, Picardi will guide listeners through the ethereal and worldly problems of the day, informed by his own on-and-off relationship with God.
The first two episodes drop Friday 6/12. Listen to the trailer & subscribe wherever you get your podcasts →

Under The Radar

Police in Louisville, KY, released a virtually blank incident report on Breonna Taylor’s death. In their report on the night they shot Taylor, a 26-year-old black woman, in her own home in March, officers listed her injuries as “none.” Police also checked “no” next to the form’s “forced entry” box, but witnesses and crime scene photos show they used a battering ram to enter Taylor’s apartment while she was asleep. In the “notes/narrative” section where officers were meant to explain how the events of the night unfolded, they wrote only “PIU investigation” (Public Integrity Unit). The three officers involved have been placed on administrative reassignment, but none have been arrested and charged in Taylor’s death. Let’s rectify that: Here’s where to sign the petition demanding justice, then scroll down to find the contact information of Louisville officials.

What Else?

Newly released body camera footage from a 2019 arrest in Oklahoma City shows Derrick Scott, a 42-year-old black man, saying “I can’t breathe” as officers pinned him to the ground. “I don’t care,” one officer replied. Scott was pronounced dead at a hospital an hour later.
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin indicated that the Trump administration won’t disclose the recipients of more than $500 billion in bailout funding delivered through the Payroll Protection Program. The Small Business Administration has also withheld PPP loan data that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) requested.
The Biden campaign will circulate a petition urging Mark Zuckerberg to change Facebook’s indefensible policies governing political speech. Seems like if Zuckerberg were susceptible to widespread public pressure he would at least have a different haircut by now, but it’s certainly worth a shot.
New voter registration numbers have plummeted in several states during the pandemic, as the usual venues where most voters register for the first time were closed. Who needs the DMV when you’ve got https://votesaveamerica.com/register? Spread the word! (We can’t help with car stuff.)
A QAnon conspiracy theorist won her GOP primary in Georgia, and is now poised to be elected to the House of Representatives. Sure, Georgia's election was a terrifying clusterfuck of voter suppression, but at least it also yielded very scary results.
Starbucks plans to close up to 400 stores in North America and expand its pickup-only business, cruelly pivoting away from its core function as a public bathroom.
The country group Lady Antebellum has changed its name to Lady A, saying it had never before considered the associations with slavery connected to that word. Makes sense.
Read this one real fast like you’re ripping off a Band-Aid: Sean Hannity and Ainsley Earhardt are dating.
Alas, the celebs (excruciating pause) are at it again.

Be Smarter

State officials from both parties have rejected the idea of reimposing lockdowns as coronavirus cases spike. Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) has plowed ahead with plans to let virtually all business reopen by the end of the week in Texas, where total cases have shot up by two thirds in the past two weeks. In North Carolina, which is reporting its highest-ever rates of infection and hospitalization, Gov. Roy Cooper (D-NC) said putting restrictions back in place would be a last resort. Utah is the one state to have paused the next phase in its reopening plan, but thanks to President Trump, it’s unable to shut down a meat plant linked to hundreds of cases. Helpfully, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has proclaimed that “we can’t shut down the economy again.” If we’ve learned one thing, it’s that putting off difficult safety measures for short-term economic reasons absolutely works and is the right way to go.

2020.04.18 01:43 CyrusWaugh Top 30 hits of the 2010’s

Well this is a thing were doing as were cooped up inside. For this I took what I thought to be the 30 biggest and most iconic hits and ranked them, using my 30 point scale of instrumentation, vocals and lyrics with an extra 10 point for overall impact on the industry, I’d love to know how you view it, but first a few clarifications, this is a ranking of the biggest hits, some you won’t like, even I have distaste for a few, I’ll save the best songs for later down the line, I’m just taking each hit and ranking them worst to best, I’m not calling these 30 the best just the biggest. Also one song per artist as a certain chief would probably overwhelm this top 30 and a certain duo that must not be named and has grown an overall distaste from people over the years would also swarm it with probably 10 songs. So lets get started shall we.
30 . Peter Pan-Kelsea Ballerini
Definitely one of the more obscure ones on this list but it was a huge hit in its own right, a lot of people have praised it, I don’t think that at all, a lot of lines where just copied and pasted to give the illusion of rhyming because overall the song is a mess, is this a reflective song, a power ballad, this song doesn’t decide what is half the time, vocally it is overall drab and bland. I don’t see the huge appeal of this song, its not that catchy and the overall package is the reason its dead last.
  1. Die A Happy Man-Thomas Rhett
Ah yes Thomas Rhett, every girls dream boat and every man’s dream to kill him and dump him off a boat. Thomas Rhett’s second single off his sophomore album became the biggest hit of his career, this song exploded, sure it was an Ed Sheeran rip off, and I’m an Ed Sheeran fan but it is a solid rip off, it is sweet though hollow, it is way to checklisty. If you locked me in a room and made me come up with a song based off this premise this would be the result. Lyrically it is pretty shallow and often was the production even though I heard a fair amount of steel throughout it. Die A Happy Man was seen as the biggest hit of the 2016 until H.O.L.Y came around swiped that away from him. Die A Happy Man accomplished what it went out to do, I still listen to it to this day, and I say a large amount of people still do.
  1. Girl In A Country Song-Maddie & Tae
With this being so low on the list you know its getting heated, 2014 was the year of the bros, all about riding that donkey, burnin’ it down with some cold jack daniels and getting in trucks, so many trucks. Then this song came along and said f*** you to the bro artists, f*** you to the producers and f*** you to Nashville. Production and lyrics do get quite a bit in the way, and I agree with Trigger’s review of it as he tore it to shreds. No one back then would’ve thought this would succeed. But this song went straight to number one beating all these bros, that’s how many people were fed up with bro country, impact was close to a 9 or 10 but with the overall production and lyrics, it was as shallow as a bro song. I love it, but I see for what the song truly is and it is not that great.
  1. Tequila-Dan + Shay
I swear this song barely beat Maddie & Tae for me, and as a song Maddie & Tae blew them out of the water but when it came to overall impact, Dan + Shay did the same to them. Calling this song a smash is an understatement, this song blew up so fast and it stayed with people for almost a year and a half. I think it is fine, its not as good as speechless, it definitely feels like a pop song with a hint of twang but what makes this song soar is Dan + Shay’s vocal performance, say what you want about these guys, call them shallow, call them gay Rascal Flatts, I’ve said it. But the one thing I cannot deny is that these guys can sing, their vocal power is off the charts, they know when to get belty with their vocals and soft in the more melancholic moments.
  1. Drunk On A Plane-Dierks Bentley
Ah, yes…Dierks Bentley, what would I do without you. With one exception I’d say this is the Friend’s In Low Places of the 2010’s, it tells a story, all about partying while getting drunk, it’s a fun storytelling song, you think it’s a good bro song then you start hearing fiddle, and you wonder what’s Dierks Bentley doing and then it hits you, this isn’t a bro song, it’s a country song period. Dierks Bentley is known most probably for this song. I think it’s a lighthearted comedical journey. It feels like a movie from comedy central, I’ll watch forever but I’ll still laugh and enjoy it every single time.
  1. Head Over Boots-Jon Pardi
I debated over what to put here, Dirt On My Boots or Heartache On The Dancefloor but then I remembered this gem, This was huge in 2016, which made you wonder, an actual country song on the radio, what is going on? This is a sweet neo traditional smash, this was the follow up to this neo traditional movement set up by Chris Stapleton. I think it is weak in terms of lyrics, but it’s a mighty strong earworm and the instrumentation is gorgeous. This was the first step to getting the master craft of Heartache Medication and what a good first step it was.
  1. Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not-Thompson Square
Ah yes, everyone who grew up in the 2010’s remembers this song, a lighthearted lovely story, I enjoyed it as a kid, and I appreciate knowing it now growing up in high school. The story flows really nice, I definitely think it’s a bit shaky in terms in vocal, this was massive on the airplay, too bad it was one of the good storytelling songs we had for a long time as bro country began to infect Nashville and songs like this began to disappear. It’s isn’t this big traditional song with gorgeous instrumentation but it has its own charm to it.
  1. I Drive Your Truck-Lee Brice
I Drive Your Truck is a mixed bag, it has neat lyrics, this is a song that talks about a truck but it digs into the interesting details likes dog tags and Gatorade, I think this would work as an acoustic ballad rather than a power ballad, it has some really strong vocal moments but a good amounts it is really lackluster. The drums are way too loud for me. But when we get to the buildup, the pay off is extremely satisfying but then it plateaus a little bit but when we reach the ending I feel the emotion Lee Brice feels when recording this song. His live performance has far more raw emotion and I recommend checking that out.
  1. Drink A Beer-Luke Bryan
This is the one thing that made me have somewhat of respect for Crash My Party, by itself its one of the most successful albums of the 2010’s. This grew to be his most respected song, not to mention it features Chris Stapleton and I think he cowrote it too. I think it is a bit too simplistic with the details but I won’t deny that this blew up quite a bit, not as much as Play Again or That’s My Kind Of Night but it was a huge hit in its own right. I’d say a lot of traditionalists tipped their hat to him for actually creating a laid back ballad about loss and ways to mourn and cope, listen to it if you haven’t already.
  1. Dirt Road Anthem-Jason Aldean
Ah…the song that kickstarted the age of bro, I liked this song as a kid quite a bit.
Now when I hear this song
I really
really
really
Still Like It.
For Bro’s first outing this song worked extremely well, I kind of got sick of the pop phase people like Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum brought and at the time this was breath of fresh air. I heard real drums, steel, not drum loops and electric guitar only. I missed this sound and if Bro brought it back I genuinely didn’t care that much, boy what karma that was come 2013. The rap verses move fluidly, talking about things I actually know, like corn bread and at least back then I could relate to dirt roads, nowadays I can’t stand it when a song brings that up. The impact it had was huge, while it started the incubation period for bro country, the song was a huge hit, the only reason Jason Aldean is as big as he is, is because of Dirt Road Anthem, unlike a lot of the bro era, this song aged well.
  1. Humble And Kind-Tim McGraw
Taking us into the top 20 is this “masterpiece”. I actually thought I’d put this in the top ten but when I thought about it really, what made this song truly special in the first place? “Oh its about embracing diversity”, no it isn’t it doesn’t bring up diversity once in the song, it is only implied if you watch the video, and don’t get me wrong the video visually is fantastic, but the song and the footage don’t fit together. Production wise it is butchered compared to the original songwriter’s version, I’d say it is Lori McKenna’s most famous write given to another artist, but nowadays this song hasn’t stayed with me or a lot of people whatsoever and this is a song that won song of the year and statistically was the number 3 song of 2016. As a song about how to live life, of course it works I enjoy it for what it is and while the overall package is lackluster but I think it is still a bit special.
  1. I Want Crazy-Hunter Hayes
Here is another Lori McKenna write, I don’t think most people realize it is, or how good of a good write it is. Before all the pretty boys of Thomas Rhett, and Brett Young we had Hunter Hayes, a pretty boy who tried to bring quality into his work. This song is a testament to his mission. I think it works very well instrumentally, it has several shades of pop but within that you get traditional sounds like steel and mandolin. And besides the technical things, this song is a JAM! Hunter Hayes moves lyrics so fluidly, unlike others in Nashville, Hunter Hayes didn’t need to have autotune to back him up, his concerts were full of life, he knew how to be a performer not just stay in one corner of the arena and lick his lips and be boring the whole time. Hunter Hayes was a drop of potential in a sea of mediocrity.
  1. My Church-Maren Morris
My Church is a bit strange in terms of production with the vocal, it wants to take me to church and I think it does a little bit. I like the references in it with Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, and I think this a song a lot people can relate to. I’m not that big on religion but there’s always a place I can go that is my church. I can’t help but to sing along to it, its melody is like a gospel. I’m glad it was a hit, her most respected hit and up till now her biggest (thx The Bones >:(. For a while the female side of country was honestly getting worse than the men, all of these singles were just begging for airplay with cheap production and hollow lyrics, this was a song that didn’t feel like a radio song with a relatable story, I’m glad it was a hit.
  1. Girl Goin’ Nowhere-Ashley McBryde
It pains me, this was one the highest scores I gave for a song in terms for the song itself, but when it came to overall impact I honestly say it is dead last in terms of that which made it land at 17, I would love to put in the top ten where it belongs but I have to be fair. Girl Goin’ Nowhere is nothing short of a masterpiece. One of the most heartfelt moments in the 2010’s was her singing this song in the grand ole opry, for a girl being told she would never succeed to finally being where she’s always wanted to be, where she was meant be. Lyrically it is beautiful and instrumentally the reflection of her journey is paved through every tap of the wire brushes, every chord of that guitar, this song while not her biggest on the radio, is what made me discover Ashley McBryde when she performed it at the ACM awards, one of the most heartfelt performances of the night.
  1. When It Rains It Pours-Luke Combs
A masterpiece in comedy, this is one of the rare cases of comedy being a story in modern country music, I’d say this is the Friends In Low Places of the 2010’s, agree or disagree that’s how I view it and that’s how I view Luke Combs, as a guy who can appeal to the bros, the partyers and the intellectuals in country music. Every verse is different throughout the whole song. This song is proof, you don’t need to be deep and mature to create a lyrical master craft. You can be as stupid and funny as you want, Luke Combs brings it with his vocal power, selling every single aspect of this absurd story, its not just Luke Combs at his finest but country music at some of its best.
  1. Mean-Taylor Swift
Come on everyone knows Mean, and if you’ve never heard of it, what have you’ve been listening to. Everyone’s known some macho jerk and this song is planting a flag to just say, wait and see. That’s all this song is about, you’d think that push this song lower but it makes even better, Taylor Swift is a big pop superstar now but back then, you had your fiddle, your mandolin in her repertoire. It was a big crossover hit everyone knew. The way she says he’s a liar and pathetic is hilarious, I love this song, as I’ve felt this way before. Also I cannot walk into a cracker barrel without hearing this song once, why that is, is beyond me, but this song brings me back to a simpler time, when country music was just country music, and nowadays we have to label everything like a fridge that has 4 roommates living together.
  1. Take Your Time-Sam Hunt
Apparently a lot of people say this is just bro garbage, I literally don’t see that. Sam Hunt has a way of communicating in his smooth talk sequences, sometimes it is used at the wrong time, but I feel it fits quite well. I believe people give too much of him a hard time for this, it denied Girl Crush for the number one song of the year statistically so I can get the hate a little bit, but numbers are numbers who cares. I definitely think Girl Crush is better but not by much I honestly think they are pretty close. Sam Hunt will always be seen as the douche who invaded country music and blew up the preconceived notion of what a country song is. Sure nowadays who hasn’t done that, but I view Sam Hunt as the douche who invaded and disrupted country music and ruined it, but did a good job.
13.Need You Now-Lady Antebellum
The mother of all pop crossovers, to say this was big is an understatement, this song was freaking everywhere. My home, school, grocery stores, everywhere I went this song was there. Why isn’t in the top 5 you wonder, because I don’t see the appeal. This is a perfect 10 in impact on the industry, but I don’t get why people loved this song. Sure it is a smash I get that, but what was so special about, what made it different from all the other breakup songs out there? I don’t see it, I see it as a wholesome mess, a song that does ring nostalgia but that’s it, to put it in perspective, it reminds me of 2010, but it doesn’t make me want to relive like other songs on this list from 2010. I will say it deserved its success even though I don’t think its that great. If you love this song, that’s totally fine, I see the appeal but this one’s just not for me.
  1. Why Don’t We Just Dance-Josh Turner
Now this makes me want to relive 2010, this song just ages like a fine wine, especially with our current predicament, all of the craziness we have to endure, it’s the little things maintaining my sanity, this song is that dialogue to a T. This isn’t just a fun jam, sonically it is so soothing, blending rock n roll with traditional elements, you got your rock n roll piano, with fiddle and steel laid throughout it all. Josh Turner brings it with his deep belting vocals. I can listen to this and it brings me back to a time when life was easy.
  1. As She’s Walking Away-Zac Brown Band ft. Alan Jackson
So many people know this melody, Zac Brown is, sorry let me rephrase that, WAS known for this richness in their sound, for bring a modern take on rustic sounds. Everyone’s has had this moment where you regret not talking to this person you’re in love with, I’ve been through and chances are you’ve been there to. Also it has Alan Jackson one of the all time greats, Zac Brown is most known for being the Chicken Fried lovers but this is what launched their 2010 album You Get What You Give into the stratosphere of the best of this decade (with Colder Weather not too far behind) This is a simple song, but it’s a simple song I needed, and I still need it, and will still as I go through life.
Now we’ve reached the top 10 the s tier, so lets get into this, I’d love to know your ten in the comments.
  1. Space Cowboy-Kacey Musgraves
This is just nothing short but perfect (well almost perfect) her new echoey shimmer vibe she’s now known for comes out best in this record (by not really being there at all) this is definitely her biggest one on Golden Hour and it’s the fan favorite on it. The impact this had was huge, now I know what your thinking, this never even reached the top 10, how did this impact anything if it couldn’t break the glass ceiling. I agree it didn’t break the glass ceiling I hoped it would break, but it allowed for others to break it, I believe because of her Nashville began considering investing in the women of country music again, look at it right now, a woman has the number one spot which hasn’t happened since 2014, 3 songs are in the overall top ten for country music. I think it was all because of this song. And lets get into the song itself, it is a strange beautiful journey. Lyrically it is so good with wordplay describing how this person doesn’t want to be here anymore, and instead of this big emotional power ballad break up, Kacey says, I get that you don’t want to be here, so instead of drama, just leave, I’m letting you go, if that isn’t powerful I don’t know what is. It is laid back in production, which is what a song like this needs, a song with powerful emotions like this need air to breath. Kacey Musgraves did what many, even I thought to be impossible and that’s win the biggest Grammy of the night, but she pulled it off, I think my jaw dropped for a good 10 seconds that night.
  1. Girl Crush-Little Big Town
Similar to Need You Now, I get the appeal, but I see it and feel a bit more. This song has no boundaries in its lyricism, normally I’d be creeped out by lyrics like this but the story behind them gives them a melancholy meaning I understand. Every dirty vivid piece of imagery works so well, I think the drum loop doesn’t work well for it, as it gives this drowning sorrow vibe, and it works well with the opening but after that I don’t like the production after that. The message is unique, most people think it is about a girl who is love with another girl, which is not even close to its message, in actuality she is in love with a man who is with another woman, and she wants to be like her, so he’d like her, definitely wacky but a message as unique as this should be praised. Now for overall impact, holy crap, people loved this song, it went on to be number one for over 12 weeks, one of the longest runs ever. It won several accolades for song of the year, thanks to Lori McKenna, if you want to win song of the year work with Lori McKenna, not an instant guarantee but it does help your odds.
  1. Drinkin’ Problem-Midland
The richness of this song is unmatched. 2017 in summary was a crappy year. The snap tracks took over Nashville, they were everywhere, and I mean everywhere, then I kid you not, one day I heard this and I thought, is this an old track then I read the date, as it released in 2017, I started hearing it more and more and I was blown away with this song, it’s not the deepest but it is clever in its own right. The production of most songs on this list don’t hold a candle to the god this song is in instrumentation. It’s lines like “people say I got a drinking problem, but I’ve got no problem drinking at all” just makes me grin. We would begin to see more songs with a similar sound, little by little, artists you wouldn’t believe started experimenting with this type of sound, it was a huge hit, casual fans loved it, semi-traditionalist people like me adored it while hardcore ones discredited it because of their background and authenticity even Trigger did it too. A song is a song, music is music, it doesn’t matter who it comes from, you’d rather someone who has nothing to do with the genre and take a crap all over it than this, I wouldn’t and you shouldn’t too.
  1. The House That Built Me-Miranda Lambert
There was a few Miranda Lambert songs I could’ve put, the critically acclaimed Tin Man, the smash hit Somethin’ Bad, but I’m sticking with the song that made me relate to her more than anything song in her catalog. There is something that is just so iconic about “Won’t Take Nothing But A Memory” Miranda Lambert is know for engaging with her audience is such a profound relatable way. Revisiting old memories have joy and heartbreak, we have to take both in, relive them, because we are what they are, they are what make us who we are. Every single tear of joy and sadness built us into who we are today, that is what this song is about, every message she sings is said with vivid imagery. Sometimes closure doesn’t come from revisiting them but we still need them regardless, it is her most well known and respected hit, and it time will age to become a standard like Your Cheatin’ Heart or I Walk The Line.
  1. God’s Country-Blake Shelton
Yep, its that good, it doesn’t deserve to be this good, also I find ironic this finds itself directly above a Miranda Lambert song. The House That Built Me is a better song overall but it fails to match the level of impact this had, everyone and I mean everyone knew this song, this brought so many fans back to Blake Shelton who honestly was a bit of a hit or miss these past few years but what, a, comeback. This has so much raw power, after my first listen I knew this would be a hit. This was his first number one hit on hot country songs since 2013, 6 YEARS. It deserved all the praise and more. God’s Country is nothing short of bad ass. Everything about its just has new life. From its gothic production to the lyrics. I’ve never seen a song blow up so fast (well a good one) Cruise took a while to rise but right out of the gate this rose to the top. Performed live, this song is legendary. If this song had fiddle like its live version I would drop dead as goosebumps would’ve overwhelmed my body.
The top 5 are songs everyone knows, whether they listen to country music or not, these are songs every one knows.
But before we move on I’d like to give a few honorable captions for what song did what best.
· Best Instrumentation-Wagon Wheel-Darius Rucker
· Best Vocal Performance-Tennessee Whiskey-Chris Stapleton
· Best Lyrics-Girl Goin’ Nowhere-Ashley McBryde
· Best Overall Impact-Cruise-Florida Georgia Line
  1. Wagon Wheel-Darius Rucker
The melody of this has been sung by so many, it’s a song so many people, the second I hear those guitar chords followed by fiddle I know I am in for a good time, Darius Rucker knocks this cover and capitalizing on everything Old Crow Medicine Band didn’t. Everything just works so well with it. My only real complaint is that I have no Idea what these lyrics are about at all, the story never really made sense to me, but at the end of the day who cares, this issue pales in comparison to everything this song offers. This was the light at the end of the tunnel in 2013, while I did enjoy Cruise, no song in 2013 compared to what this song was and still is, a party song that cherishes everything country music stands for, beautiful instrumentation, compelling stories and simple melodies. I adore it, chances are you do to, whether you think it out-beats the original or not.
  1. If I Die Young-The Band Perry
The closer we get to number one it gets so hard. It brings this folk like sound and storytelling to the table and it blows you away. I think vocally it could use a little flare, but out of all the songs on this list I think it uses fiddle the best. I think the harmonization of the band is overall excellent. It flows story wise as the life of this person progresses so smoothly, I especially like the lyric “funny when you’re dead people start listening” that just feels so true. And lets talk about success, I’d argue this was bigger than Need You Now, this is the only song to reach 7 million sales without the help of a rap artists in the 2010’s, so calling this song a hit is an understatement. This song set the bar in 2010 for critical achievement and only a handful over the years have been able to reach it let alone surpass it.
  1. Cruise-Florida Georgia Line
If we chose a song to define the 2010’s, there is no song, more obvious, more excruciating painful. But when this song came out it was a jam, it still is, before all these songs about getting girls in trucks with the stupidest pickup lines this was a narrative honestly everyone was fine with, if bro country was something only FGL did, a whole lot more people would be fine with them doing their thing, because with all of the hate, they do, I’ll just say it, Florida Georgia Line are country artists, just not the best ones. I think they make country music, just not the best country music. Cruise as a song without any outside factors is a smash that works on so many levels, it is the most successful country song of all time, does it deserve it, yes, yes it does. Talk about a song you couldn’t get away from, you wanna see impact, this song started a movement that held on to Nashville for over 5 years and Cruise inspired the next movement to come along and grip Nashville. I’ve never seen a song do something like this, the reason it isn’t number one, is because I don’t view this as a number one song of the decade, hell I wouldn’t even put it in the top 10 for the song itself. But the impact this song had was undeniable, whether you hate them or not, its success is deserved.
  1. Tennessee Whiskey-Chris Stapleton
The 2015 CMA awards had one of the most legendary performances in country music history, yeah its worth calling it legendary, when Chris Stapleton took the stage with Pop Superstar Justin Timberlake bringing back the roots of country music. Tennessee Whiskey not only is a fantastic song, it is the reason the neo-traditional movement kickstarted, it is the reason artists like Jon Pardi, Luke Combs, and Midland are who they are, this saw the return to quality in country music, it brought the soul of it back when the genre was at its darkest. Chris Stapleton has such a raw vocal power unmatched by anyone not even Luke Combs comes close to Stapleton. Lyrically it is so good with its wordplay, it’s a cover of a classic of course the lyrics will be good. The instrumentation feels so bluesy, like I’m in a bar or a pub (I’ve never been in one so what do I know) Everything about has so much atmosphere, from the guitar solos to the vocal runs Stapleton does throughout the song. This is currently the most viewed country song of all time on YouTube, one of the most streamed songs on Spotify and it belongs to the most successful country album of the decade. Tennessee Whiskey while a cover is reinvented to fit Stapleton’s style of music, and the fact that he did this song his way and not David Allan Coe’s just adds another layer to the countless layers of praise this song has received.
And now number one, the best hit country song of the 2010’s:
  1. Old Town Road-Lil Nas X
OBVIOUSLY, like what other song could be number one, the trap beat is better than any real percussion, the lyrics are better than Girl Goin’ Nowhere who am I kidding, you know it is the best country song of the 2010’s, maybe even all time, come on I’m right.
Okay I can’t do this joke anymore lets get to the real number one:
  1. Springsteen-Eric Church
Okay with all jokes aside, this is not only the most unique and impactful, it is arguably the most relatable song on this list. A song I think everyone here has listened to at least once. Some of you think I’m biased as a lot of my lists have The Chief at number one, and if was in your shoes I’d be a little irritated too. But Eric Church deserves every ounce of praise he receives. This song is able to bring so many people back to a time, a time of happiness, a time of heartbreak, to revisit memories not by normal means by remembering the times with a person you cared about through the music you loved. The music you two shared. Lyrics don’t get as iconic as “funny how a melody sounds like a memory” Not only was it the biggest hit of his career it was one of the biggest of the decade, back then in 2011 Eric’s sound was revolutionary, forget Florida Georgia Line, Eric Church changed country music entirely after the release of Chief, I’d argue Cruise exists because of Chief. Eric’s vocal delivery has hope and yet somberness. The piano and guitars bring this wave of nostalgia because we all have a person we care about but now were not with them, or we were never with them at all, friends have shown me what this song meant to them and all their interpretations share the single thread of adoration of music, music is escapism, to relive glory days, to relive heartbreak, every song does that, even the bad ones, that’s what this song is about. To celebrate what music has done for us and pay it forward.

2019.11.28 03:48 CyrusWaugh Every Mainstream Album Of 2019 Ranked

Mainstream country was honestly pretty good this year, nothing was too bad unlike some other years. Now my choice for what I consider mainstream is tough and there is like a 90% chance it will spark controversy. So the artists I consider mainstream must have had at least one single in the top ten country songs chart this year. (Sorry, I hate it too)

11. Old Dominion-Old Dominion
Like Grady said this album just plays it so safe. This is a pretty gleeful album which is fine, as long as you have interesting themes which the album really doesn't explore. Even when they try to explore things seriously like on One Man Band and My Heart Is A Bar they make it too happy, the lyrics don't match the tone of the production. Make It Sweet, is probably my favorite for its catchiness and the fact that the tones of the lyrics and instrumentation actually match, its fun which is what a lot of this album does fairly well. The best way to describe the album is an album that does a clean performance but it is a clean performance of an easy show.
4.5/10
10. Fire And Brimstone-Brantley Gilbert
This album has really nice things on a handful of songs. But its highs honestly don't say much as it is just too depressing, the vocals of this album are not good. The production is like a rip off of 9 by Jason Aldean. The main problem with it is that its lows are just so annoying. This album just isn't as emotionally investing as the other albums on this list. Lyrically Brantley Gilbert has a lot of interesting things going on but the production is just is not as impactful as the words being said.
4.5/10
9. 9-Jason Aldean (This is a coincidence with the numbering)
I enjoy this album to a degree, I like bro country, I've never hated it, I admit it has several flaws but there was something about it that I really enjoyed. This was a last ditch effort to keep Bro Country alive. Now the production on this is not really good but at least it is strong. What I mean is that with albums like Old Dominion the production feels cheap, all of it was done on a computer and not really cared about, but with 9 there is a lot of loud epic stuff on stuff like We Back and Blame It On You. The writing on I Don't Drink Anymore is really nice with its little twist. Which is arguably the best song on the album which is a nice compromise with bro and the sound of Drowns The Whiskey. The album just lacks a lot of substance lyrically and instrumentally on songs like Cowboy Killer. This album does have a cohesive sound mostly throughout it which is what I like on albums but its sound is not phenomenal.
5/10
8. Center Point Road-Thomas Rhett
This is arguably Thomas Rhett's weakest album and as a fan of Thomas Rhett and a lot of his work, it is kind of disappointing that he went from arguably the highest he's ever been with Life Changes to his lowest with this record. But it is definitely not bad. There are a few dumb songs on this record with stuff like Up and VHS. This album has a lot of pretty good stuff, Center Point Road reminds me of Castle On The Hill and it is a nice reflection song. That Old Truck takes it one step further and I especially love the lyric "Made A Lifetime Of Memories On A Half Tank Of Gasoline" Remember You Young while poppy has a neat little narrative to it. Notice is probably my favorite song (and the most pop) it is just so freaking catchy and should be the next single (Not On Country Radio, best he goes with That Old Truck for Country Radio) It is kind of hard for me to hate this album. In my opinion the highs outnumber the lows however this record's lows are really bad.
5.5/10
7. Girl-Maren Morris
I hated this album the first time I listened to this album but after about 3 or 4 listens to it I've learned to appreciate it. The production and the lyrics I've learned to appreciate. This isn't groundbreaking but I think it achieves what it tried to do. What sets this album back are the over poppy tracks and the ones trying to be too serious, RSVP is still terrible to me and Common is just so boring. Out of all the albums that tried to show female empowerment this arguably did it the best. All My Favorite People is just a jam and having Brothers Osborne on it just elevates it. A Song For Everything is my favorite on the pop side of this album, which says there is a song anyone can relate too (pretty self explanatory). A lot of it is catchy and fun but what sets this apart from stuff like Old Dominion and Cassadee Pope is that is is able to explore different themes and its lyrics match the tone the sound is trying to portray. But the sound of the album is something I cannot call country which docks it down a good amount.
6/10
6. Ocean-Lady Antebellum
This is the comeback Lady Antebellum needed. This is an album I'd listen to on the road and this album is pretty consistent with its sound, it isn't something profound but it has its highlights here and there, like the build up of What If I Never Get Over You, the narrative of Be Patient With My Love, The fiddle of Boots, the beauty of Ocean. There is something here for everyone to enjoy. This is more for the casual country fan rather than a traditionalist. The album's lows are not bad just really boring. Making some songs just forgettable. The harmonies on this album are really nice unlike stuff like Heartbreak, their previous album. I just wish the album had more high moments like Ocean. This is the opposite of Center Point Road where here there is more lows than highs but the highs are just sensational.
6.5/10
5. Greetings From...Jake-Jake Owen
Ladies and Gentlemen Jake Owen cracks the top 5, I don't know how. This is just so much fun. These are all just a bunch strong beach songs. Some I'd drink to (Soda), others I'd get a tan to and some I'd listen to on a beach campfire. This is just a neat compromise with pop country and 90's style country. Homemade is just a really well done song vocally and lyrically. The vivid imagery is something I really appreciate. The little details like Collard Greens or 98 Pontiac. In It is a really nice acoustic highlight. The album isn't something that gives me goosebumps but it sure does give me a good time
7/10
4. Can't Say I Ain't Country-Florida Georgia Line
This is the most controversial FGL album to date, some hate it, some love it, I lean somewhere in the middle. I love the highlights but really hate the downsides with a passion. This has a handful and half of songs I can see become singles. Speed Of Love and Blessings give off this traditional vibe I love. They still have their bro roots with stuff like Y'all Boys and Small Town. Their pop side isn't clean. I enjoy Talk You Out Of It mostly for its catchiness. Women is a mixture, I like it vocally and lyrically but it doesn't really work instrumentally it just is too hollow. Swerve, Sittin' Pretty and Like You Never Had It are just abominations but apart from those two songs I enjoy the rest. Colorado is so well written it boggles the mind this comes from FGL. Told You is really unique with its sound. People Are Different in my opinion is the best mainstream song that embraces diversity (sorry Humble And Kind) This album apart from the 3 songs I mentioned just are really strong. Sound wise it is a mess, one minute they have a 90's vibe then it switches to this sore pop sound which doesn't really work. The little skits don't really work at all and can turn people off this album. But I enjoyed it and I believe it deserves a bit more respect from the industry especially considering the rest of their competition this year which didn't provide much at all.
7/10
3. Late Nights And Longnecks-Justin Moore
Now that we have the pop country out of the way we get into the real good stuff. The 90's vibe is just so good. Why We Drink just gives off this vibe of country style long gone. The One's That Didn't Make It Back Home is a nice dedication to our troops. I really like the song Jesus and Jack Daniels which has a neat little story which gives a yin yang kind of style. My only real significant problem with this album is that I could use more drums and just more percussive power on stuff like On The Rocks. I'd like a bit more interesting songs as sometimes this album can get a bit lost with themes.
7.5/10
2. What You See Is What You Get-Luke Combs
Aww yeah Luke Combs. There is no bad song on this album. While most of these albums have a pretty bad song this one does not. Even when he does Pop Country on stuff like All Over Again and Moon Over Mexico it sounds so good. If you don't agree at least compare it to the rest of what Nashville is trying to shove down out throats. Luke Combs actually knows and cares about what we want. The self appreciation songs on here are the highlight, like Refrigerator Door and Does To Me. My only complaint is that this is over-saturated with breakup songs. You could cut a few of them. I prefer the more serious themes he shows on this album. Another thing I appreciate is that he doesn't go to big pop artists on this record unlike some other artists. He goes to his country heroes on this record, we get Brooks And Dunn on the 90's throwback 1,2 Many and Eric Church on Does To Me. Man I don't know how anyone can hate it, this expands the sound from his previous album in new and profound ways and leaves fans wanting more. No doubt this is the biggest release and my favorite album of the year, What could possibly beat it.
8/10
And My Pick For The Number One Mainstream Album Of The Year

(Sigh) Its Heartache Medication
1. Heartache Medication-Jon Pardi
Let's be honest you knew what number one was going to before you clicked on this. Heartache Medication deserves so much praise and more. This is a master-craft on how to bring the sound of country music back into the genre. The edge this one has is that unlike Luke Combs this album is ground breaking. Ain't Always The Cowboy is just a stellar power ballad. Fiddle is the highlight of this album a majority of the songs have the awesome or beautiful solos on stuff like Tied One On or Ain't Always The Cowboy, like Grady said this album feels expensive. This record is eye opening and points out what is wrong with Nashville right now. Call Me Country straight up says country music isn't country anymore. Me And Jack has a Johnny Cash vibe especially with its rhythm. The crazy solo at the end just really delves into the madness of being drunk with its tempo changes. This album was worth the 3 year wait. Even its weakest song is just so cleverly written, "I want tequila a little time" just puts a grin on my face. Nothing I say can really say enough about how amazing this album is. I hope it gets the recognition it deserves because it is more than a album. It is what I believe is going to get us out of this identity crisis the genre is stuck in

HAPPY NEW YEAR, CHARLIE BROWN – ABC and the PEANUTS gang will ring in the new year with the animated PEANUTS special “Happy New Year, Charlie Brown,” created by late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, along with “She’s a Good Skate, Charlie Brown.” In “Happy New Year, Charlie Brown,” the PEANUTS gang is ringing in 1986, and Marcie and Peppermint Patty are throwing a big New Year’s Eve bash. Charlie Brown plans to celebrate the holiday by curling up with a big book that weighs nearly as much as he does, Tolstoy’s “War and Peace.” The book’s weight doesn’t stop him from lugging it to Lucy’s pre-party dance class, where he cuts a mean rug with a rollicking Patty. 2019.10.28 16:22 Potato_Quesodilla Strange south reviews! (‘A skull where her face had been’, ‘don’t fear the reaper’, ‘the gatekeeper’, ‘damn it’s dark down here’, ‘baby shoes’, ‘longer than you think!’, ‘some mothers boy’, and ‘antebellum’)

My strange south order! It got here after a month and included 2 free samples which was nice! Here’s my initial thoughts after letting them rest and wearing each perfume for a good amount of time.
A skull where her face had been
Notes on the website:
Old letters, moths nesting in a fur coat, lettuce, brandy, and bitter wind.
I don’t smell any of that. I can’t because this is an exact dupe for a perfume I wore my entire childhood, Dior’s ‘poison’. I cried when I opened the sample. To me, this smells like the summer that I read ‘on the road’ for the first time, and worried about how starting the 10th grade was going to be. This smells like staying up late talking to my best friend on AOL Instant messenger. This smells like my youth spent trying to wear adult perfumes and hoping to someday be a glamorous, sexy lady. As far as the actual perfume goes, it’s gorgeous. Dark and sultry and floral. Medium throw, lasted about 3 hours on me before getting too subtle to smell. Definitely doesn’t smell like lettuce, definitely will buy full size.
Perfect for: Road trips only imagined, Totino’s pizza rolls, and Dial up internet.
Don’t fear the reaper
Notes on the website:
Creaky wooden stairs, spilled tea, and a menacing fog.
Right away when I put it on, it smells like an old wooden attic. The wood notes seem to really amp up on my skin as it doesn’t change much throughout the day. There’s a plastic-y undertone which I assume is the fake fog smell, and at the very end before it disappears forever is a faint whiff of vanilla. This is not a pleasant perfume to me, it reminds me of what a plastic blow-up couch sitting in an old attic would smell like. Completely unique and almost not at all wearable, but it’s fun as hell. Low throw, lasted about 2 hours and was subtle the whole time.
Perfect for: cheap haunted houses, blow up furniture rotting in an old attic
The gatekeeper
Notes on the website:
Headstones buried under moss and ivy, rusted iron fencing, and gunpowder.
Green Floral with a silver undertone. I definitely smell the ivy very strongly followed by a very cold note. Gunpowder is pretty present too. This one is almost exactly as described, but it has a very low throw and lasted less than an hour on me. Sad :(
Perfect for: 2 minute dates, quick graveyard walks
Damn it’s dark down here
Notes on the website:
Jasmine, vetiver, clary sage, damp soil, and coffin wood.
Jasmine, strong jasmine. Almost smells like a pine box, which is assume is the coffin wood. There’s a definite dampness and earthiness to it that I love, like a freshly dug grave with jasmine flowers that haven’t begun to wilt yet. Very spooky, very beautiful and haunting. Medium throw, lasted about 4 hours on me before getting subtle.
Perfect for: the funeral of your rich, geriatric husband
Baby shoes
Notes on the website:
Upturned dirt, gasoline, powdered skin, smashed apricots, cream, and white musk.⁣
Straight. Citronella. Candle. Washed it off, can’t stand that summer mosquito smell. Total pass for me. Sad :(
Perfect for: if you somehow want to smell like a mosquito truck in The middle of the Texas heat, this be your scent.
Longer than you think!
Notes on the website:
The fuzzy, slowly decaying remnants of a mind gone mad. Gardenia, walnut, galactic resins, dust, and darkness.⁣
I bought this one for the notes, because those are some impressive sounding atmospherics. It doesn’t disappoint. The gardenia is strong but underneath it almost reminds me of what the night sky in winter in Texas smells like. 80°, muggy, dusty. I get the fuzziness. It makes me feel fuzzy and kind of...sad. Medium throw, lasted probably 5 hours on me. Absolutely gorgeous perfume that I can see my sad heart reaching for everyday in winter.
Perfect for: warm December’s; Texas night skies; my sad bitch soul.
Some mothers boy
Notes on the website:
Steel tracks, gas from an old copper lantern, dried tears, and roadside flowers.
White floral drenched in...gasoline? I can smell the steel tracks since there’s an obvious cold note underneath the overwhelming gasoline flowers. I think this one does exactly what it says it does...however unpleasant that result ends up being. Almost smells like baby wipes to my nose, but baby wipes drenched in gasoline. Don’t know what the dried tear note is, I expected to smell a salty note that never came. However! This one lasted absolutely goddamn forever on me! I’m talking, 9 hours later I was scrubbing my arm so I could finally go to sleep. Definitely wouldn’t wear again!
Perfect for: playing red dead redemption in the dark, immersing yourself into a story that involves gasoline and steel tracks. Otherwise I can’t think of what else you’d wear this for.
Antebellum
Notes on the Website:
Peeling wallpaper, dusty cedar cabinets, pipe smoke, lavender, and wisteria.
The most controversial from my order is a total smash. The wisteria is very strong (starting to think my skin just amps up the strange south’s floral notes), as well as the cedar. I definitely get the peeling wallpaper and the feeling of an old neglected house. It reminds me of when I was a kid in the south and I’d go visit my grandparents ancient 1920’s house...with the ever-present smell of tobacco, mixed with florals in my grandmother’s perfume. This perfume smells like the passage of time and all the good and bad that comes with that. High throw, lasted a good six hours on me.
Perfect for: anyone who loves the smell of good, Ol’ house. This is it dead on.
Overall review: I think I had more hits than misses with the strange south! Very long TAT was frustrating, but the perfumes themselves are very high quality and only need a 3-5 day resting period. Will definitely order from this house again as there is more I am interested in that I didn’t get. Love that they do frequent sales!

2019.10.09 22:16 aFloatingPineapple GTA VI Credible Leak ?

UPVOTE THIS POST SO IT DOES NOT GET BURIED ... *** FOLLOW ME TO GET MORE INFORMATION IN THE FUTURE.
UPDATED WITH TRACKLIST AND RADIO STATIONS
here is my ID badge that i use to get in and out of work. ( Name and picture is blurred for my protection.) date 2019-2020.
https://imgur.com/a/eenWmAR
Everyone has been waiting, a credible leak for Grand Theft Auto 6. I will not be stating my name or anything, this is a personal throwaway account, But I do work at Rockstar Games. This next addition to the title will be keeping the tradition of roman numerals, ( GTA VI ) but I will often refer to it as GTA 6, to make things easier.
be sure to read everything, as I have taken the risk and time to leak a lot of vital information.
First off I’d like to state that all previous leaks about GTA 6 is a hoax. All of the leaks regarding GTA 6 taking place in any other area than Vice City, is a hoax.
I will be breaking down the characters, storyline, and more.
Grand Theft Auto VI is designed to be the most developed video game in history, and redefine open sand box games, letting the player fully immerse in the world and storyline.
In Grand Theft Auto 6 the game will take place in Vice City, but the previous storyline leaks etc, is all fake. The plot is completely different,. The game will host 3 protagonists, one being a middle aged white man named Johnathon Brooks, but is often referred to as John. John is going thru a mid-life crisis, and lives on the returning area called Starfish Island. John essentially is a life long career criminal, and exposes the player to a new crime element, fraud. John was born in Carcer City, and moved to Vice City at age 17, after running away from his foster parents, not much is known about his previous life before then, except he was in a very poor family.
John got into the fraud game in the early 2000’s, and he is 38 in game. he earned his money thru many fraudulent activities like credit card fraud, bank fraud, and did a few small bank jobs, and laundered his money with his own car wash business. He lives in a $1.8m mansion that he bought with his illicit gains, and the FIB are on to him. He borrows money from the local gang in Little Haiti, where fraud is very prevalent, and he starts getting back into his older habits to pay off the gang. The FIB notices this, and he ends up doing dirty work for the FIB, in order to keep his freedom.
The second character is Samuel “Shotta” Stevens, who is a member of the Haitian gang. He is a black, Haitian based character with more character development, than Franklin from GTA 5. He is 26 in game. The game also focuses more on crime, and the gang element. The player will experience the brutal reality of the gang life in Vice City, in the slums of Little Haiti, from loan sharking and repossessing the unreliable clients, to brokering the sales, that being kilos of cocaine, for the South American Cartel. Samuel lives in a Section 8 apartment, in the Little Haiti Neighborhood with his grandmother, Amy.
Samuel just wants to move out of the hood, but loves the gang lifestyle, and this gets him caughtup in the FIB drama with John. The FIB cuts him a deal also, if he can snitch out his gang, which the player can choose to cooperate, or refuse. This will change the storyline of Samuel dramatically.
If you choose Option A: Snitch on the gang, You will snitch on the gang and work with John, who will show you the ropes of Fraud, and you both will defraud the bank of Schlongberg Sachs, commit multiple heists, and become a protege of John. Or of course you can choose, Option B: Refuse. Refusing will make Samuel a target of the FIB, and this causes him to gain more respect from his gang. The respect system from San Andreas is back, but new and improved. Samuel will expand his gang operations from Little Haiti, all the way to the Vice Keys, and beyond.
The Third Character is a man named Xavier Gonzalez. Xavier is a latino man born in Vice City, he is 40 years old, and a cocaine kingpin. He lives in Downtown Vice City in his lavish $1.5m penthouse. Xavier is friends with John from the beginning of the story. Xavier is apart of the story no matter what option you choose, providing cocaine to John to sell, OR, Providing cocaine to both John AND Samuel, to sell together, and to strengthen the gangs funds. The gang system is similar to Red Dead Redemption 2’s system, and also has elements of GTA San Andreas. Xavier is also tied in directly to the nightclub business as well, having stakes in the returning Malibu Club, now run by the Jimenez Family, a latino Mafia, who has ties directly to the South American Cartel.
Each Character has a different personality and lifestyle, and will be a exceptional experience for the player. Former characters from past GTA’s will be making appearances. Luis WILL be returning, being a manager of the Malibu Club, Stranger and Freaks missions are returning with a more in depth story for every one of them, and Michael De Santa and his wife, Amanda, will be returning also, living in a beach house, although their children will not make any appearances. The both do not play a VITAL part in the storyline, but will have stranger and freaks missions for any character, with all different outcomes. For example, passing by the state penitentiary, you may just recognize Lamar Davis, in a bluish grey jumpsuit, embellished with a pair of handcuffs wrapped around his wrists, demanding for a ride.
The map of GTA VI, will be bigger than GTA V and RDR2 combined, having several counties, having Vice City, based on Miami, the Vice Keys, based on the Florida Keys, The Everglades, based on the swampy Everglades in Florida. The game will also feature Orlando, which is named Corlado, and Tampa, named as Gulf Shore City, but downsized a bit. The game will feature sprawling countryside outside of Vice City and Corlado, with countryside towns, named Canisville, Centura, and Sentinel Point, along with towns along the Vice Keys. There is an Air Force Base, based of off Eglin Air Force Base, named Fort Sentinel. The Ocean is the Atlantic Ocean, with more shipwrecks to discover, plants and animals, and more. The game itself has as many animals as RDR2, and the player can hunt if they choose, although this is just a more of a minigame. Vigilante Missions will be back, along with Taxi Missions.
Character Customization will be better, from the belt on your waist, to the socks on your feet. Choose to your liking of luxury watches, rings, chains, earrings, featuring plain jane, to diamonds and rubies, emeralds, and more. Belts can be worn along with hightops, to lowtops and boots, and dress shoes. Pantlegs can be tucked into the footwear you choose, if the option is available. Tattoos will be back, along with hair customization. John is white so he can tan, or be sunburned, and the core system from RDR 2 is back aswell.
Tattoos will feature opacity and can also fade over time. You will be able to adjust the size of the tattoo. It will be able to be placed on over 10 different area of the body depending the size.
Since the core system is back, you will have to also bathe, to stay clean, otherwise you may notice changes in your cores.
You will have to eat to replenish cores, so you can cook in your safehouse, or go eat out in a restaurant, whether it be fast food or upscale. All characters can have relationships with women, similar to GTA 4 and GTA San Andreas. You will be able to buy extra safehouses around the map, and the amount of vehicles will be the same amount that are in GTA Online, and more. Every vehicle will be returning, and first person mode will be more enhanced, with more realistic vehicle interiors to immerse the player into every aspect of the game. South America will not be apart of the game, only Vice City and surrounding Areas.
Skills from GTA V is also being integrated back, along with exercising, to boost strength. Agility is a new added skill, and Strength will affect how hard you punch, kick, or melee in general.
Special Abilities so far, will not be coming back. This may be tweaked before release, but if they return, it will not be a major part of the game.
Car Customization is more advanced, different leather trims can be changed colors, along with wood trims and marble trims. You can add satellite radio, which lets you listen to radio stations in Los Santos, and Liberty City, but so far there is only two stations from each of those cities. You can also listen to all the radio stations across the counties. Neon is back, new spoilers and liveries as well, Along with different colors of tint. Subwoofers will be a standard upgrade as well.
Los Santos Customs is gone, and Pay and Spray is back, along with Viceland Kustomz, and Sentinel Bike Shop. You can also modify certain parts at the car dealerships.
The drug dealing system from GTA: China Town Wars is also returning, but a bit revamped. This is where the post office system comes in, from RDR2. Pounds of Marijuana sourced from Los Santos delivered by mail, to a post office near you. From weed to tabs of LSD, all the way to meth, heroin, and cocaine, you can reap major profits.
Casinos will be returning as well, one being a resort, others being small-time casinos. You will be able to rent a room in the casino and resort. The casino is named as the Malibu Casino and Resort.
Gunplay is improved with new realistic sounds. Interiors are just as detailed as GTA V or RDR2, if not more, I’d say. The insurance system from GTA Online will be integrated into GTA VI’s story mode, so losing a vehicle will not happen.
There is an abundance of new and old activities, that being over 50 strangers and freaks missions, drug supplying, or drug running, similar to GTA TBOGT’s drug missions. You can hunt, as stated before, but is more of a minigame than a money maker. You can fish as well, as fishing is a very popular sport, in modern day Florida.
There will be four strip clubs scattered around the map, one of them named Vanilla Unicorn South East, which is owned by Trevor Phillips, who is planned to make a cameo, only to be featured in a cutscene so far.
Nightclubs as I stated before, will be a thing. There will be 3 nightclubs, where you can take part in a few activities, like dancing, where you can meet your date in game, or drinking and smoking. Expect SOLOMUN, and BLACK MADONNA to return. You will see in game appearances of them DJing in the nightclubs. No other DJ’s will return.
Bounty hunting will not be a thing, but dirty work for the FIB throughout the story will be similar. Pool and bowling is returning, along with player skills, exercise and working out also is a thing, as stated above earlier.
Convenience stores and gas stations will feature many products you can purchase. Snacks, that being Phat chips, (different flavors yield more health and core restoration) candy bars, ( EgoChaser, Meteorite, Zebra Bar, and more) drinks, (E Cola, Sprunk,) Alcohol, (Pisswasser, Champagne, Logger) Redwood cigarettes, and cigars. The stores will be setup similar to RDR2’s store system. You can rob the stores, and also start a protection racket, and extort them.
Pharmacys will be in the game, to purchase portable med kits, or you can rob the pharmacy for drugs and money.
The way you eat can also affect your character’s health, and weight. Similar to GTA San Andreas’s system.
Merryweather will return, but won’t have the same presence as it did in GTA V. Merryweather ends up not being able to operate on U.S. soil, and goes out of business as a hit is put on Don Percival, by one of the returning characters from GTA V.
An advanced parkour system is integrated as well, similar to GTA IV’s.
Gun stores will be prevalent as this is based off of Florida. The homeless man who found the diamonds, from GTA TBOGT will also make an appearance as a gun store owner, as he has proceeded to purchase and start a gun shop in the area of South Vice Beach.
The black market for weapons is featured in this game as well, similar to fences in RDR2. You can also craft bombs/projectiles if you have learned to.
Realism is a goal of this game, without being too overwhelming. Guns and weapons will need to be cleaned. If you shoot a gun, you will smell of gun powder, this may be noticed by civilians or police officers, and they will make comments about it. If you have not bathed, you may just get absurd insults slurred at you. If you have blood stained on you, and you smell of blood, people may give you weird looks, or may just make a call to the local Law Enforcement.
As for those who DM me or ask about Strangers and Freaks, or mysteries and riddles, the paranormal world will be featured in GTA VI. You may encounter serial killers, or creepy sightings in dreary areas. Strangers and freaks will all have its own unique storyline.
The weather system is IMPROVED SIGNIFICANTLY aswell. Hurricanes do take place, but only during certain parts of the storyline, and floods may occur in marshland areas and anywhere away from mainland.
Melee Combat system is based off of strength, and Agility, which is a new skill, as stated above, and is improved heavily. Hand combat is influenced by strength and agility. Based on how hard you hit the opponent, you may bruise them, and bruise yourself. The chainsaw is returning as well. The limbs and gore is back from RDR2
Dialogue System from GTA San Andreas and RDR2 is back, and improved, with different responses every time.
GPS and Navigation System will be improved, showing the quickest routes, from alleyways to the freeway. Every street will have a name, and the GPS voice from GTA IV is returning as well, get ready to hear “Turn Left in 500 yards, Bing Bong.” Planes will have autopilot, and you can fly to each city with plane tickets, or on your own.
Driving mechanics will be similar to GTA IV’s, but combined with the smoothness of GTA V’s mechanics. Damage to the vehicle will be more detailed then ever, featuring airbag damage as well. EVERY Vehicle will have its own selected weight, and handling, to improve the player’s experience.
Six star wanted level is back, with FIB being the 6th star. There is multiple law enforcement agencies. VCPD, GSCPD, CPD, SPPD, Highway Patrol, FIB, IAA, Viceland State Patrol, as well as the NOOSE. You will not be shot by cops for just staring at them.
Being arrested results in you serving time, similar to RDR 1’s Jail time mechanic, showing you all of your charges while you sit in a cell. The first time you get arrested it will show your character being booked, and you will have to take a mugshot and be fingerprinted. Depending on the county or city you’ve been arrested in, you will be known to local law enforcement and even law abiding citizens, depending on how severe your charges are.
Random events are more realistic than ever. depending on the wanted level you’ve attained, there is a system similar to the bounty system of RDR2. The more crimes you’ve commited that have gained attention of law enforcement, you have a chance of getting your hotel room getting kicked in by noose, your safe house getting staked out by undercover FIB, even being pulled over if you have commited a number of crimes in the same vehicle. You may witness muggings, or even be mugged yourself. You will encounter situations with homeless people to the rich and famous, with all different outcomes.
Real Estate as stated before, will be available to all three characters. Businesses will be available, illicit and legal, from businesses to launder cash for the gang, to illicit businesses like credit fraud rings, to counterfeit cash.
Safe houses will be available as well. A penthouse in Corlado, a modern mansion on Starfish Island, a beach house on Ocean Beach, a small quaint house in Canisville, a traditional house in Gulf Shore City, a vacation-style home in the Vice Keys, to small apartments in small towns like Centura or Sentinel Point. Each character will be able to purchase any of these properties, but it will be tied to just the one character that purchased it.
Hotels and Motels will also be available to rent rooms and bathe in, one being the Gulf Shore motel, a dingy motel room for cheap, perfect for someone wanting a cheap stay. The Malibu Casino and Resort near Vice Beach, a 5 star luxury stay, with a two-story penthouse with a jacuzzi the player can bathe in, with views of Vice Beach, and the nearby Ocean Beach. There is 4 hotels and 2 motels scattered across the map, each with unique interiors and different amenities.
Purchasing vehicles you can enter a dealership, or purchase online and have it delivered to a garage. Pegasus Concierge is returning. Certain stolen vehicles will have trackers, and will not be able to be modified, same as GTA V.
The stock market is also returning, BAWSAQ and VLSM ( Vice Land Stock Market ) and can reap heavy profits as well.
Time goes by: This game is set in 2017-2019. Times will change thruout, buildings will be completed as they were in RDR2, radio stations will not play all of the music in the tracklist at first. Instead it will play newer music thruout the storyline. You will still hear older and newer songs too after completion.
Character customization is not just clothing, tattoos, jewelry and hair customization. You can also purchase 3 different phone models. an iFruit phone, based on the iPhone Xr, a Badger phone, or a Whiz Wireless. You will also be able to purchase ringtones, as you were able to do in GTA IV. You can also purchase an iFruit watch, based on the apple watch, which you can take calls on, if you change your settings.
Depending on how rough you play, clothing can wear and tear. Examples: jumping out of a moving vehicle, falling off/on rocks, tripping on certain props.
As stated above, NPC’s will notice the clothing you wear, the way you look or smell, the car you drive, and the jewelry you wear, and will make comments on it.
Crouching will be back, the same as RDR2, and the cover system is nearly the exact same cover system as RDR2.
ALSO Expect a Special Edition, AND Collector’s Edition, similar to RDR2.
The game is set in the summer of 2017 to 2019 as the storyline proceeds. This game WILL BE PS5 Exclusive, for the first month. The in-game experience is like no other, PS5 also has a new controller design as well. It is projected to not release until later 2020, AFTER holiday season BUT MAY BE DELAYED. I have broken down the storyline, key elements of the game, and if anyone has anymore questions I will be happy to answer. I know so much about this game as I’ve been working on it since the start, and I’m not afraid to get in trouble, as this is a throwaway.
I will not be responding to negative comments, claiming this is fake, because I will not waste my time with non-believers, only true questions.
all content is confirmed unless it has been mentioned by me to not be officially confirmed already, and anything may be scrapped before release as cut content, but is unlikely
*PLEASE UPVOTE. I do not want my effort and the risks I am taking to go to waste. I want this to not get buried. *

2019.09.20 01:21 KLJohnnes A Decade Of Pop: 2010

So, since we are a few months from 2020. I'll be doing a series called A Decade Of Pop. Basically a compilation of the most important hits, debuts, albums and legends of the decade. Also, this was really hard to do so don't wait for 2011 to come soon but by the end of the year we will get every year.
2010
3OH!3 - My First Kiss Not impactful, still another hit for Kesha and the last drop of relevancy that 3OH!3 (What a hard name to type) had.
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs One of the most controversial AOTY of the decade, yet, not the first. Due to the Grammys being weird about deadlines, Taylor Swift actually has that title with Fearless. The Fame Monster should have won though.
B.o.B. - Nothin On You / Airplanes He literally was everywhere, It’s pretty similar to Cardi. Came out of nowhere, didn’t stop releasing hits. He holds the title of Bruno Mars’ debut single which went #1. Also worthy mentioned his collab with Hayley Williams on Airplanes.
Black Eyed Peas - The Beginning / The Time / Just Can’t Get Enough Still riding the massive destruction that The E.N.D. had, BEP was able to get themselves two top 5 hits.
Bruno Mars - Doo-Wops & Hooligans / Just The Way You Are / Grenade / The Lazy Song / Talking To The Moon If with B.o.B. Bruno was able to get a #1, alone he was able to get two. Three if you count Talking To The Moon only charting and hitting #1 on Brazil.
Christina Aguilera - Bionic This album refine what flop means at that time. Didn’t hit #1, didn’t entered the top 10. Now it’s being seen as ahead of its time and underrated. I guess it’s up to your own opinion on it.
Drake - Debut Album Thank Me Later Drake’s debut, only cracked the top 10 with Find Your Love.
Duffy - Endlessly Duffy’s sophomore record. It had such a difference take than her first one that remains her last album release.
Emily Osment - Fight or Flight / Let’s Be Friends and Lovesick Well, she tried.
Eminem - Recovery / Not Afraid / Love The Way You Lie Not Afraid and Love The Way You Lie gave Eminem new highs on his career making his debut into the decade, Recovery, a real strong one and a great transition in keeping his relevance from the 2000’s to the 2010’s.
Far East Movement / Dev - Like a G6 Well, bitch, talk about classic. This is the song it’s going to be played in a party a few decades from now as a throwback and you’ll be embarrassing your kids for dancing and screaming the lyrics (Who am I kidding), correcting, screaming Dev’s verse at the top of your lungs.
Janelle Monae - The ArchAndroid ALBUM OF THE YEAR, Janelle’s highly praised debut and a mark for afrofuturism in the 2010’s culture. This little lady in a suit changed the world and little attention was given to it. This is a must listen to everyone in the world.
Justin bieber - My World 2.0 / Baby / Somebody To Love Justin’s debut and similar to Drake, was really successful yet not even close to their peaks. Baby, a love it or hate it song, didn’t even hit #1 on the Hot 100. I could not believe it. Shout Out to Somebody To Love, a less annoying song that showcase his early talent.
Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy / All The Lights / Monster / Runaway It’s really hard to describe the amount of impact this album had. Kanye’s magnum opus, filled with features, polemics and a breakdown of why he’s one of the most talented artists of this generation. No one could produce this album other than him. None of the singles cracked the top 10 yet, they are all impactful on their on way.
Katy Perry - Teenage Dreams / 5 #1 Katy’s untouchable phase. Teenage Dream was released having 3 out of the 5 #1 happening in 2010, the year ended with Firework at the top of the charts. What a way to end such a strong beginning of a decade.
Kesha - Animal and Cannibal / Tik Tok
Kesha worked double releasing Animal and Cannibal both at the beginning and end of the year, Tik Tok was the first #1 of the decade remaining in that position till the end of february and We R Who We R debuted in #1. Talk about a powerhouse.
Kylie Minogue - Aphrodite / All The Lovers Aphrodite was to Kylie what Confessions was to Madonna. A huge impactful “Hey, you better look at me cause I’ll never stop being the best”. Everything in this album cemented Kylie as the icon that she is. It’s really a beautiful crafter pop album and one of the best of the decade. All The Lovers was the biggest hit in it and the video reminded everyone why Kylie’s videography is as important as it is.
Lady Antebellum - Need You Now Released in 2010, the album was nominated for AOTY and had the hit Need You Now in it, a great crossover of country hitting #2 on the charts.
Lady Gaga - Telephone and Alejandro Telephone remains as a historic pop song for featuring two of the biggest name of all time in a song together. The video was so fucking iconic that still is referenced to this date. Alejandro also deserves its place on this list, holding Gaga’s first controversy against religion, beautiful video and one of the best works of both Gaga and Steven Klein.
Lana Del Ray - Lana Del Ray a.k.a. Lizzie Grant Lana's official debut depending on how do you see it. She looked gorgeous in the cover and the tracks showcase a glimpse of how far she would come in her career.
Mariah Carey - Merry Christmas II You Securing her place as the Christmas Queen, Mariah released the follow up to Merry Christmas. Iconic.
Marina and The Diamonds - The Family Jewels Currently Marina. The Family Jewels was a weird album but still a great one. Marina walked so your tumblr girl phase could run. Filled with Marina’s most iconic singles and one of the most unique writings of pop music. Still holds up if you want to give it a try.
Maroon 5 - Hands All Over Well, I guess they deserve a nod. Not a bad album, not a great one. Misery was a weird song to be a lead but the video looked realistic.
Miley Cyrus - Can’t Be Tamed Miley’s third album and her first step into freedom. Can’t Be Tamed hit #8, Who Own My Heart failed to chart.
Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday 50 K for a verse no album out. Well, not true anymore cause Nicki has officially debuted. None of the singles cracked the top 10, in 2010, we’ll have to wait for me to talk about it.
PINK - Raise Your Glass Some people can call it Pink’s last interesting work. I do. Her last #1, so far. Great video.
Rihanna - Loud Three #1 and two of Rihanna’s biggest hits. Hold as her best record till ANTI came along. Iconic cover, iconic hair. If GGGB introduced Rihanna’s a main pop girl, Loud cemented Rihanna as the icon that she is now.
Selena Gomez and The Scene - A Year Without Rain Back when Selena was part of a band. Nothing much to say since it wasn’t as successful as her debut or her most recent album but it’s worth mentioning that A Year Without Rain (single) is indeed a great track, and to release a ballad for someone who wasn’t taken seriously as an artist was an important step in Selena Gomez’s career. I’d say if this wasn’t released as a single, Demi’s Skyscraper wouldn’t have been released.
Shakira - Sale El Sol Shakira is now back to her earlier image and what a return. Loca become so huge on America Latin it was inescapable.
Taylor Swift - Speak Now Entirely self written, Taylor’s third record holds a special place in her career, a beautiful transition between her teen years to adulthood. Could be called I’m not a girl, not yet a woman. Dear John, Mine and Back To December shout out to you.
Usher - OMG Usher’s last #1, so far.
Now some important awards.
Grammy’s Album Of The Year: Taylor Swift - Fearless
Grammy’s Recording Of The Year: Kings Of Leon - Use Somebody
Grammy’s Song Of The Year: Beyonce - Single Ladies
Grammy’s Best New Artist: Zac Brown Band
MTV’s Video Of The Year: Lady Gaga - Bad Romance
CMA’s Entertainer Of The Year: Brad Paisley
Academy Awards For Best Original Song: Mariah Carey Toy Story - We Belong Together

2019.07.02 01:27 talkalotemy My (F20) am being told I'm a bother and treated like one by my boyfriend (M23)

So 3 months ago I started dating my boyfriend. We were also non exclusively dating for a month before that. But we have spend a lot of time together and he has made me feel like I’ve never felt before. He has treated me so amazing, going above and beyond for me, paying for everything we did cause I’m a broke college student and he has a stable job in the army, taking care of me when I’m drunk, listening to my feelings, everything you can imagine. A week ago we told each other we love each other. But for the past month and a half we’ve been dealing with long distance and we’re considering taking a break until he gets through his army training which makes it really difficult for him to talk to me. I told him I’m insecure in the relationship because we aren’t talking a lot and he’s being way less affectionate. He told me he was being less affectionate because he’s felt disconnected from me because of how little we’ve been talking.
But I visited him this weekend and let me just say, almost the entire time I was treated like shit. I drove 5 hours to come and see him and paid for a hotel room because I have an unstable car and my mom didn’t feel safe with me driving alone. So I stayed in the hotel with her at night and the plan was to spend the days with him. Friday night was perfectly fine we went out to dinner and then went back to his house and watched a movie and had sex. He then took me back to the hotel and out plan for the next day was to go shooting with his roommate and some other people.
I’m waiting in my hotel until 11 AM not hearing from him and by 11:30 I just say fuck it and go to the mall with my mom. He finally texts me and I’m like “wryd” and he responds with “nothing lol just got out of bed” and I say “I drove a long way to see you for the first time in a while and last time for a while and all we have is last night and today and I’m sitting in a hotel room watching Netflix all morning....” and he responds with “Okay, i was asleep. I went to bed at like 3. I’ll come get you and we can chill here for a few.” So he finally gets to the mall at 12:30 and I get in the car and he’s like you were sassy this morning and I was like yah I’m sitting in a hotel room waiting for you. He responds with “well what am I supposed to do?” I say “set an alarm” and he’s like “I passed out” and then I just drop it and we pick up food and he said we’re not going shooting anymore cause Virgil isn’t going so we head back to his apartment and start watching a movie.
Half way through he have sex and miss the rest of the movie and I wanted to see it so he put t back on, turned away from me, and screwed around on his phone the rest of the time. Then when the movie was over he was basically like “what do you want to do now?” And I’m like “what is there to do?” And he said “nothing really” and then he decides he wants to take a fucking nap. He sets an alarm for an hour but we started screwing around with each other for thirty minutes so he’s basically like great thirty minutes left and goes to sleep. He then sleeps right through his alarm and I go to the bathroom and cry. 15 minutes later I shake him up and say “are you really going to sleep through our last few hours together?” And he has responded like “I told you I was taking a nap” and “that’s some crazy girl shit.”
We then go to a lady antebellum concert on his military base with his roommate and drink beer and have a good time. We then drive back to his apartment and he’s drunk af. I inhaled a juul the wrong way and throw up and he was sweet and came over and rubbed my shoulders and held my hair and asked me if I needed anything. We then go back to the couch and start watching a movie and he falls asleep. His roommate is basically like wtf bro you need to pay some attention to your girl friend and he and I keep on trying to wake him up and he says “fucking stop” every time and hits his roommate. He starts saying to his roommate “I’m sleeping all fucking day tomorrow all fucking day” and I’m like my mom got a late check out and he says “oh my fucking God that probably means you want to go to lunch or some shit right?” I’m like yes and he said “Jesus fucking Christ” and I said “if I’m a bother you don’t have to” and he said “you are a bother” and I give him a look and he said “don’t give me that look” and he falls back asleep.
I tell him I need to go and he says I’m too drunk and his roommate tells me he’ll give me a ride. His roommate FaceTimes my boyfriends best friend Kyle and they basically start shit talking him for how he’s acting and I told him I’m leaving and he gets up and goes to his room and his roommate yells (still on FaceTime) “there he goes being a fucking boyfriend” and he tells me you ready to go? And I’m like yep and we leave. We get in the car and I ask him “do you feel safe to drive?” He says “no” and I say “then you shouldn’t drive” he says “well it’s too late now” and I say “no you haven’t started driving it’s not too late” and he says “yah well you all wanted to talk shit so” and I said “I wasn’t talking shit” (because I wasn’t) and he said “yah ok.” So he drives me to the hotel in silence and when we get there he says “what’s wrong” I didn’t want to talk about it so I said nothing and he said “you were silent the whole car ride” and I said “so were you” and he says “I’m drunk and tired I’m trying not to kill us” and he said “I’m going to try to wake up to see you tomorrow” and I say ok and bye and I leave.
I text him like 15 mins later and say “we’re leaving at one tomorrow will you be up by then?” And he says “honestly idk.” Then his best friend, the guy that was on FaceTime with his roommate, messages me basically just asking if we made t alright. He said “I take it was a silent ride?” And I’m pretty much like yah and he says “You just gotta realize that he has a lot going on. You just gotta help him through it.” And I respond with “he’s kinda treating me like shit though” and he says “All relationships go through rough patches just sit down and talk with him.” And I respond with “Idk how he’s gonna take it cause last time I tried to tell him something he responded with “that’s some crazy girl shit” but idk I guess I have to talk to him I just think he’s gonna think I’m crazy and problematic so idk how to do that” and he responds with “First You pull him to the side tell him how much he means to you. Then you tell him that there are some things that he needs to work on, and that you will help him. He is gonna get defensive and become a dickhead. Never fails. Your gonna calm him down the best you can. And when he does you tell him please for me tyler. Give him a kiss and then he will realize. Then so it doesn’t seem one sided. You ask him if there is any thing you can work on to better the relationship. You agree/ hug it out/ kiss.” And I’m basically just thanking him after that.
Fast forward to the next day. To my surprise he texted me around 9 AM the next day telling me he’ll be here around 11 to take me to lunch. 11 roles around and I haven’t heard from him since and then I text him at 11:10 and say “you awake” and he responds like 5 mins later and says “I am now I slept through my alarm again” (he’s never slept through his alarm when he had to go to work) and he doesn’t get to the hotel until 12. We go to lunch and he is checking out girls and talking about how hot they are. I say “you’re gonna sit here and check them out” and he’s like fuck yes. And he says shit like “I’d be balls deep in her.”
The lunch ends and he takes me back and he kisses me tells me he had a good time with me and I said me too and he said “did you?” And I said “idk did I” and he says “rude” as a joke. He tells me to text him when I get home and I do and he replies with “alrighty.” And guess what? Today’s his birthday lol so in light that it’s his birthday I text him “Happy birthday babe 😘 I hope you have an amazing you day you deserve it” and he ripples with “thanks 😘”. So all that’s left to say is I’m still in love with him. Should I talk to him and give him a chance? I just need opinions. If you read this long thanks for sticking around I appreciate it.
TL;DR My boyfriend who was an amazing boyfriend always there for me, is treating me like shit, after I drive 5 hours to see him he isn't waking up till late, still taking naps, checking out girls and telling me he's checking out girls, and telling me I'm a bother.

2019.07.01 18:55 talkalotemy Is it worth it? (Bare with me it gets worse as the story goes on)

So 3 months ago I started dating my boyfriend. We were also non exclusively dating for a month before that. But we have spend a lot of time together and he has made me feel like I’ve never felt before. He has treated me so amazing, going above and beyond for me, paying for everything we did cause I’m a broke college student and he has a stable job, taking care of me when I’m drunk, listening to my feelings, everything you can imagine. 15 minutes later I shake him up and say “are you really going to sleep through our last few hours together?” And he has responded like “I told you I was taking a nap” and “that’s some crazy girl shit.” We then go to a lady antebellum concert on his military base with his roommate and drink beer and have a good time. 2019.02.02 06:00 ExtraEater Billboard Hot 100 Year-End Songs of 2009

Ten years.
It's been ten years since Barack Obama was first inaugurated, ten years since the death of Michael Jackson, ten years since the premiere of Glee and RuPaul's Drag Race, and other iconic events from the 2000s now stand as even older than ten years. As we approach the end of the 2010s, it's a good time to reflect on good ol' 2009, which I'm sure many can hardly believe was ten years ago. Did we mention that?
For your hosts, we have simultaneously gay and straight icon ImADudeDuh and me, the guy who made this. This month, we're rating the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End Songs of 2009, a year which was likely a part of many popheads' childhoods, unless you're like 15 in which case don't stay up too late for this rate, or you might miss your bedtime! This rate is a successor to the amazing Billboard 2012 rate hosted by the lovely Nerdy_boy_chris just two years ago (and check out those mostly correct results). I hope you all have as muc fun doing this rate and getting wistful and nostalgic as we did doing the 2012 rate!

Pop Music's #TenYearChallenge

The throwback trend that is the #TenYearChallenge has served as a convenient way to remember 2009. Observe how careers such as that of Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Kanye West, and Katy Perry have changed for better or for much worse since then. To honor this very well-timed trend, your lovely host ImADudeDuh made a video commemorating how much some of our favorite pop stars have changed since the late 2000s, featuring artists and songs from this very rate!

Watch it here.

Rules

  • Listen to each song and assign each one a score between 1 and 10. Decimals are fine, but it can only be to 1 decimal place (7.5 is fine, 7.2 is fine, 7.58 is not).
  • You may give ONE song a 0 and ONE song an 11. Please reserve these ratings for your least favorite and most favorite tracks, respectively. You may not give your 0 or 11 to the bonus track.
  • You must listen to and score EVERY song in the main rate. Check to make sure you've scored everything.
  • Your scores and comments should NOT be considered confidential.
  • You can change your scores at any time! Feel free to PM ImADudeDuh or myself about it.
  • Please use the prepared link below to send in your scores. You must use the correct format. The link directly messages me.
  • If you want to attach a comment to a specific song (which is encouraged!) write it right after your score. Make sure nothing is separating your score and your comment except for a space!
This is the ONE AND ONLY correct format:
Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne - Down: 9 outsold fifth harmony
These are INCORRECT
Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne - Down: 9: outsold fifth harmony
Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne - Down: outsold fifth harmony. 9
Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne - Down: I'm giving this a 9. outsold fifth harmony
Jay Sean feat. Lil Wayne - Down: 9-outsold fifth harmony

Here is the link to send in scores

Bonus Rate: DJ Earworm 2009

Just as iconic as the Year-End's Top 25 itself is the DJ Earworm mashup of its Top 25 songs, which is why we're honoring it by featuring it as the only bonus track in this rate. It's already a 100-song rate, after all, so we might as well keep bonus tracks to a minimum. We're curious to see its collective average score.
  1. DJ Earworm - United State of Pop 2009 (Blame It On the Pop)
And remember, you may not give this bonus song your 0 or your 11.

2018.12.24 19:33 ThatParanoidPenguin I've been curating a list (with a lengthy description for each song) of the most overlooked, underrated, slept on tracks since 2018 began. If you're looking for new music to listen to, please check this out.

Here's the Spotify Playlist!

Hello everyone! If you're unfamiliar with these posts, I spent each month of 2017 compiling songs that went under the subreddit's radar, featuring music that I believed needed more exposure. I wrote about each track, diving into to what made them worthy of being on the list.
I decided not to continue this series in 2018 because of personal obligations (it does take a lot of time to listen through music and write about it), but today I return to you with a holiday present.
I present, the most slept on pop songs of 2018.
I don't have as much rigid criteria this time around, but all of the songs here are ones that I felt barely got any exposure on the sub, some reaching little upvotes or others not being posted about at all. You may not enjoy every single one of these tracks, but I hope you may find something you will like.
Without further ado, here are 2018's picks:
Frankie Cosmos - Jesse
Jesse is the lead single of the New York City songwriter’s third album, Vessel. Earlier releases had Frankie embracing a more jangly and abstract shade of twee pop. Vessel keeps that same carelessness and intimacy, but opts for more robust instrumentation, with heavier emphasis on guitar, louder drums, and a whole lot more energy in general. The song runs on like a conflicted conscience as Frankie finds herself in a state of good ol’ 20-something year-old disillusionment, and resolve never quite happens, but I suppose that is the point, isn’t it?
EDEN - float
If you’re looking for leftfield pop with genuinely interesting production, look no further than EDEN. The Irish musician writes, produces, and performs all of his music, and his debut, Vertigo, proved to be one of the most solid releases of 2018. Float is one of the most visceral tracks on the album, with crashes of glass, mechanical bleeps, and dissonant effects all gracing the instrumental. It’s downtempo with a twist, feeling bleak at times and hopeful at others. EDEN’s vocals perfectly compliment the stripped down beat, and it’s definitely one of the highlights from the album.
Au/Ra - Panic Room
One of the most exciting voices in alternative pop is Au/Ra, a 16 year old singer from Ibiza, Spain. Her brand of melodrama has garnered her quite the following, and quite a bit more followers since I first covered her debut single, Kicks, early last year. Panic Room, her most successful single to date, has a massive brooding chorus, a dark instrumental, and a lot of uneasy negative space. It’s an infectious track that would be enjoyable for people who are into Halsey and Billie Eilish, and hopefully she finds success in the US.
Mija - Notice Me
Notice Me is one of my favorite tracks of 2018. It’s really hard to pin down what genre it exists in, borrowing from the airy abstraction of ambient DIY rock artists like Vagabon, the sensibilities of indie pop artists like Little Dragon, and the dreamlike qualities of EDM artists like Jai Wolf. The product is a weird polygamous marriage between the three, with a single verse followed by three separate instrumentals that keep the listener in a complete and utter trance.
Ravyn Lenae - Computer Luv (feat. Steve Lacy)
Ravyn Lenae is simply the most underrated R&B artist in 2018. Her EP, Crush, represented a gorgeous effort in making a splash, and there’s serious Kali Uchis vibes for those who love her brand of free-flowing, cozy delivery. Featuring Steve Lacy both on production (for the entire EP, no less) and vocals, the two craft a song so undeniably sexy yet jam-packed with insecurity. They both lament a relationship that doesn’t have to live over a screen, and the song ends with a fitting and personal voicemail to Ravyn about hoping to see her in person soon.
Family of the Year - Hold Me Down
I’ll get this out of the way. Do I think this is the best track of the year? Far from it. But I will say it is beyond catchy. It’s inoffensive indie pop which isn’t in fashion in 2018, but if this monster of a track dropped half a decade ago, this would’ve been in every damn car commercial. It’s feel-good, simple pop for dancing around, but the lyrics are surprisingly great. There’s a lot of internal rhyme, an infectious flow, and a solid instrumental, and it won’t be long before you find yourself humming along to the cute hook.
Madilyn Bailey - Tetris
Looking for a new pop girl? Here’s one. Madilyn Bailey is another YouTube cover queen who is taking a stab at her own career, and Tetris is her newest single. For those into synthpop, check this out because not only is a megabop with an infinitely catchy chorus, the production on this gives serious Sabrina CarpenteAllie X vibes. With a hint of video game bleeps and bloops, this is a solid pop track with a lot of replay value.
Twin Shadow - Saturdays (feat. HAIM)
Twin Shadows’ new album had some forgettable tracks, but this HAIM-featuring 80s love letter wasn’t one of them. With a pulsating, dancey beat that the Brooklyn songwriter is known for, there’s a ton of feel-good energy here. The chorus is amazing and the instrumental is just a perfectly sunny vibe. HAIM makes a brief, but welcome appearance, and the whole track is just one big ball of synthpop nostalgia.
Yuno - No Going Back
No Going Back is simply the best kept secret of 2018. Combining elements of Tame Impala-esque delivery, hip hop-inspired production, and hints of indie rock, it’s rare I feel so entranced by a song on first listen. This sunny masterpiece gives me the same feeling I got when first listening to Jai Paul - there’s something so gorgeous about the spacey, late-2000s synths (Grizzly Bear in particular) combined with the strong, commanding percussion. Top that off with Yuno’s stunning falsetto, and you have a track that I found trouble not leaving on replay when it dropped earlier this year.
Jack River - Ballroom
A friend recommended this to me earlier this year, and this Australian pop singer has quite the career ahead of her. Ballroom is a bombastic, nostalgic bop, and rarely do I hear such an honest bottling of bliss. “All these people in the room, and I just wanna be alone with you,” she reveals, and you can really hear this as the backing soundtrack for the climax of a coming-of-age high school prom, and as the final chorus drops, confetti falls. All is well.
Little Dragon - Best Friends
Little Dragon continues to be the most underrated figure in indie pop. The A side on a split lead single release, it’s gotta be one of the most lush songs the group has ever recorded. The instrumentation is so brimming with life, complimenting Yukimi’s delivery quite well. The song tells a story of lost friendship through distance, and the dissatisfying process of meeting again later and feeling like total strangers. Finishing off with a wistful outro and longing instrumental, the track is easily one of the most overlooked releases of the year.
Gin Wigmore - Girl Gang
Can I spare you a girl power anthem in these trying times? Gin Wigmore gives us sass, crass, and brass with this feminist bop. She bites at the patriarchy, and features some illustrations of influential women in the video (including icons like Yayoi Kusama, Marie Curie, and Malala Yousafzai, among others). The song itself is a confident and defiant proof of effortless girl power, with some punchy lyrics to boot. Sure makes me want to join the girl gang (not to be confused with the Gucci Gang).
Shamir - Caballero
Ditching his pop roots for indie rock was a decision that may be dizzying for some, but for Shamir, he dived right in. His career may have failed to reach the numerical heights that it was poised to reach, but personally, he’s never been more raw. Caballero is a forgotten B-side off of a release that never reached his 2018 record Resolution, but it’s one of the catchiest songs he’s ever made, a perfect combination of his pop roots and rock style.
Haux - Cologne
This tender electro-folk track gives serious Maggie Rogers/shallou vibes, and boxes with the best of the gentle indie pop I’ve heard. The pale cube appearing on a sandy beach on Something To Remember, their EP’s cover speaks more about this track than I ever could. A friend suggested it to me after finding it while sad on Spotify’s New Releases and I’m glad I got to hear it.
Rebecca & Fiona - Need You
Rebecca & Fiona aren’t exactly a popheads staple, but they’ve been releasing unorthodox electropop tracks for a minute now. Need You is one of their highest highs, the lead single from The Art of Being A Girl. It’s dancey, but not overly so, hedging its bets on a piano that gives way for one of the nicest drops of the year. If you’re here for simple independent scandipop from a producing duo, this is for you.
Chaos Chaos - Pink Politics
If you only know Chaos Chaos for Rick & Morty, you should change that. The last single before their newest self-titled record, Chaos Chaos return with some The Knife-esque brilliance. Pink Politics is a track written the day after the 2016 election, and it shows. The song may sound poppy and happy, but with lyrics like “is it natural to feel this unnatural?” there’s severe pain on display here.
Princess Nokia - Flowers And Rope
I have a love-hate relationship with emo rap. There’s legitimate merit in the concept and blending of the two genres, but oftentimes it leaves a lot to be desired. This may be a controversial inclusion as a lot of people were put off by Princess Nokia’s direction with A GIRL CRIED RED, but I really appreciate it. She substitutes her usual hunger with a more monotone, autotuned vocal inflection throughout the EP, and there’s a lot of repetition, “edgy” lyricism, and poppy choruses. In my opinion, songs like Morphine and At The Top are some of the most interesting rap tracks of 2018, with flows so infectious they’ve stuck with me months later. The opening track, Flowers And Rope, might be the poppiest she’s ever been. It’s kind of a whiplash from traditional pop, but give it a chance. There’s something oddly endearing about her melancholic delivery, and the production snaps with a ton of percussion quirks and vocal layering. It’s exhausting for a song just over two minutes, but it works.
Louis the Child - Better Not (feat. Wafia)
Buckle the fuck up, kids. You want a bop? A pop track that, if the world was a perfect place (shoutout Lorde), would’ve not only smashed, but became an anthem? How about an EDM track that is both punchy and smooth? Female vocals that dazzle and sparkle? What if I told you 2018’s catchiest track already dropped, and nearly everyone missed it? Well, it’s the truth. While popheads was too busy lamenting the early 2010s, Louis The Child blessed us with this masterpiece. Better Not is a song that feels both massive and chill, and while repetitive, it never gets old, instead becoming a complete and utter earworm I’m happy to let crawl around. First of all, the production is so physical, warbling in a unique way that only Louis The Child can nail. Wafia’s vocals fit the track so well it’s really hard to imagine anyone else on it. And honestly, I’ve probably played this track more than most other pop track in 2018 and it just never feels stale.
Qveen Herby - SADE IN THE 90s
Qveen Herby really deserves more love in this sub. For those who aren’t acquainted, this is Amy from Karmin, and most of these tracks she releases are produced by Nick, the other half of Karmin. This is one of the most seamless and catchy rap/pop combos I’ve heard, and it’s extremely clear Amy hasn’t forgotten a lick of what made Karmin’s hooks so monumental. The result is one of my favorite hooks of 2018, a smooth and suave stream of consciousness that goes up against the best hooks Karmin has given us.
Chantel Jeffries - Wait (feat. Offset & Vory)
Chantel Jeffries produced and co-wrote this tropical club jam that quickly grew to be one of my favorite guilty pleasures of 2018. It’s simple, but it works well. I know Offset features are probably the bane of popheads at this point, but much like the Slide feature, he fits rather well on the instrumental. The whole track is pretty laid back, and while it’s not breaking much new ground, it’s easily one of the more enjoyable hip hop and dance mashups I’ve heard this year.
SSION - 1980-99 (feat. Sky Ferreira & Patty Schemel)
Okay, let’s just get it out of the way. We’re here for Sky Ferreira. However, you come for Sky and stay for the great production and wild breakdown that defines this track. And more about that breakdown - the track kinda falls apart, pulling and pushing before a final monster of a chorus. Sky shines on the rock-electronic hybrid of a track, and the song finishes with a muted conversation, a haphazard rendering of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
Kyle - Babies (feat. Alessia Cara)
KYLE’s most recent album got little attention earlier this year, and it’s a shame because it’s a genuinely fun and well-produced pop rap album. This highlight with Alessia Cara is a late night anthem, and both have more chemistry than I would imagine in this unlikely collab. As expected, Alessia steals the show, as the best moments of the song is her verse over the drum-led beat. As a whole song, though, it’s probably one of the nicer light hip hop tracks I’ve heard this year. They both work together quite well, and I wonder why this track hasn’t gotten more exposure.
Phantogram - Someday
New York indie pop band Phantogram released a double single this year with proceeds going to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The A side of this release is Someday, a somber but stellar track that feels like an evolution of their last release, Three. A tease of what’s to come, Someday is easily defined by its wonderful horns and lovely percussion, which is always expected from Phantogram. Saturday is also worth giving a listen, but I’ve found myself gravitating to this track a bit more, and that’s because it’s probably one of the best thesis statements of what embodies Phantogram. Melancholia, hip hop beats, and brilliant loops.
Chad Valley - See-Through
This track from ex-chillwave artist Chad Valley is probably one of my favorite obscure tracks of the year. It’s total Forever 21 pop, but in the best way. The synths are infectious, the chorus is soothing, and the whole song just hits a vibe that I can’t explain but it just feels so dreamy. I saw Chad live earlier this year and this track was a lot of fun to hear live, it’s super dancey and entrancing.
Maty Noyes - Lava Lamps (feat. Beekwilder)
Maty Noyes is kinda the alt pop girl that never was, and In My Mind was the smash that never led to anything bigger. It’s a shame, because her brand of pop is so bold and wild it’s a shame to imagine if a song like this smashed the radio. And what a song this is. With a vintage-like playful instrumental, Maty and Beekwilder trade lines on this infectious track that oozes groove. Maty knows how to write a hook, and the one on this track is nothing short of a damn party. It takes a while to reach after the opening of the song, but it’s worth it.
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs - Don’t You Forget About Me
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs are one of the quietest electronic acts. It’s a shame, because in 2012 he released one of the coolest albums of the year, Trouble. On one of the first songs he’s released in years, Orlando teases release again and again on this slow burn. But when it does explode and the beat crashes in, it feels more than worth it. The funky instrumental is a fantastic evolution for him, and it’s one of the best drops I’ve heard in indie pop since the famed Dance Yrself Clean drop. It’s the slow dance at the end of the night, and with a track as intimate as this one, I don’t want the night to end.
88rising & NIKI - Warpaint
88rising, if you don’t know by now, is the premiere platform for Asian hip hop and pop in America, housing such artists as Rich Brian, Joji, and Keith Ape. However, one of the lesser-known artists on the record label is NIKI, and this song is a chief example of why I consider their lack of popularity on the sub a travesty. NIKI has a few appearances on the 88rising group debut album Head In The Clouds, but she really shines on this solo track, a bold and catchy pop track that could put her head to head with any pop track on the radio today. Hopefully she has a far-reaching career ahead of her, because I’m poised to hear more.
Swanky Tunes - Day By Day (feat. LP)
New York singer LP collaborates with the Russian dance duo Swanky Tunes, and the result is a bouncy dance track that suits her stylish Florence Welsh-esque sound. It’s definitely way dancier than her usual music, but it jams, and part of that is the wonderful drop that takes a note from LP’s playbook, perfectly fitting her style.
Young the Giant - Superposition
You may not have heard a Young The Giant song in a while, but I’m here to tell you why that’s a mistake. The group trended pretty poppy with their sophomore release, Mind Over Matter, and don’t quite get their footing until 2016’s Home of the Strange. However, Mirror Master feels like the band is finally comfortable, and the second single released before the album, Superposition, is both quirky enough to fit with their debut, while expanding on what it means to be a Young The Giant song. It’s got all the facets in place to be a radio sleeper hit, and hopefully it does.
Kilo Kish - Void
Best known for her features on Vince Staples tracks, Kilo Kish has done quite a bit of innovative solo work. Her mothe EP that recently released is what I consider to be the best EP of the year, a swirling and nauseating masterclass of cohesion. Void is as violent and jarring as its stunning music video, pulsating and pouncing with a shrill industrial beat that increasingly speeds up until it finally gives release.
Jillian Jacqueline - Priorities
My personal favorite track off of Pennsylvania pop-country singer Jillian Jacqueline’s Side B EP, a continuation of her stellar Side A EP released last year. It’s a feel-good track that blends the best of pop and country, and it’s clear that Jacqueline can write quite the hook. For fans of Kelsea Ballerini or Maren Morris, definitely check Jillian Jacqueline out.
Lennon Stella - Bad
You may remember Lennon Stella from Nashville, but here she is to reinvent herself with a catchy pop song. The Hotline Bling-esque track is lowkey but high quality, stripped down and minimalist, allowing her to highlight her lovely voice, which compliments this cute record quite well. I would watch out for this one, she might do very well for herself.
Mr Little Jeans - Unfollow
Mr Little Jeans has always been the queen of lazy, hazy slow pop, and Unfollow is no exception. With a whisper-heavy pre-chorus, she marries together downtempo pop and trap in a smooth way that makes this track reminiscent of a lot of the slower tracks on Ariana Grande’s Sweetener. However, instead of the Pharrell-led production, we have more lush and atmospheric interaction with Monica’s dreamy vocals.
Steve Aoki - Our Love Glows (feat. Lady Antebellum)
How’s this for a collab? Steve Aoki’s third iteration of his Neon Future album series has quite the list of odd collabs, from Blink-182 to BTS to Bill Nye (no, that’s not a joke). However, the real standout of this album is a track called Our Love Glows. Most of us haven’t heard from country pop icons Lady Antebellum since Need You Now, but you don’t need much context to enjoy this sugary pop song. Aoki’s production shines here, but the real star is Hillary’s bubbly delivery, proving to be a bit more versatile than we ever gave her credit for.
